Absolutely. This is a common scenario ('Bring Your Own Device'). We handle the onboarding of your existing hardware into our merkaio cloud infrastructure. We just need the device keys (DevEUI, AppKey) to securely migrate the devices to our ChirpStack server and visualize the data streams. You don't have to source the hardware through us.
Yes. The portfolio is large (AM, EM, VS, UC series). We analyze your use case (e.g., 'humid greenhouse' vs. 'office') and recommend the right model based on our long-term experience with battery life and sensor accuracy. We prevent you from 'over-engineering' or using unsuitable indoor sensors outdoors.
Yes. Before you buy hundreds of sensors, we validate the technology together. We set up a merkaio ops environment and integrate a handful of Milesight test devices. This way we check range, data quality and integration into your software before the big investment is made.
Milesight sensors send efficient but cryptic hexadecimal data. Many standard platforms can't read this immediately. We've developed our own library of optimized payload decoders for ChirpStack, ThingsBoard and Datacake. We guarantee that the hex string 03671500 immediately becomes the readable value Temperature: 21.0°C - without you having to program.
Yes, very well actually. The Milesight UG series (UG65/67) has an integrated 'Semtech Packet Forwarder' or 'Station' that connects seamlessly with our Managed ChirpStack environment. We configure the gateways to act as pure 'pass-through' devices while the intelligence resides securely in the cloud.
Yes. With the UC300 or UC50x controllers, we can control actuators (e.g., pumps, fans). We implement the logic in the cloud to send downlink commands to the device. We strictly adhere to duty cycle rules to keep the network stable.
Milesight Cloud is good for simple starts. merkaio is the solution for enterprise requirements: Data sovereignty (your data resides on German servers, not in China or the USA), Integration (we push data directly into your ERP, SAP or Microsoft Azure), Hardware mix (you can mix Milesight sensors with devices from other manufacturers in one dashboard).
The 'up to 10 years' in the datasheet often only applies under ideal conditions. We configure sensors realistically: Adjusting transmission intervals (Spread Factors), disabling unnecessary features (e.g., LED blinking) and using 'Confirmed Uplinks' only where necessary. This massively extends lifespan in real-world operation.
Outdated firmware is a security risk. As part of merkaio ops, we monitor Milesight's release notes. We test new firmware versions in our lab environment for stability before rolling them out to your production gateways via remote management.
Milesight D2D (Device-to-Device) is a technology where sensors communicate directly with each other (e.g., light switch -> lamp), without going through the gateway. This enables extremely fast response times (< 1 second). We configure these direct links for time-critical applications, while data is still sent to the cloud in parallel for analysis.
